Each year, during National Falls Prevention Week, we offer a free screening event to assess your risk for falling. The event is provided by many community partners including Pharmacists, Ophthalmologists, Podiatrists, Audiologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Emergency Medical Services - Community Paramedics, the local Trauma Center, Home Health Agencies, Skilled Living Facilities and local law enforcement. This event is always FREE. We are always focused on senior fall prevention.
We can put you in touch with the right people to access very important balance and mobility classes such as Matter of Balance, Stepping On, and Tai Chi to name just a few. Exercising and strengthening play an important part in your ability to age in place.
We will bring the training and screenings to you! The Manatee County Falls Prevention Coalition will present important information regarding falls prevention and mini- screenings in your community or facility. Just gather a group and let us know when you would like for us to come out and share the the knowledge to keep you safe and falls free!
